Welcome to Squirrels – the youngest section of Scouts, for children aged 4 to 6. It’s all about play, curiosity, friendship and first adventures. We meet every Monday during term time from 5.15pm to 6pm at Potters Mede.
What Do Children Do At Squirrels?
At Squirrels, children take part in activities that spark imagination, build confidence and nurture kindness. From storytelling and music to nature walks and simple crafts, the sessions encourage curiosity and creativity while helping children form friendships and learn how to work together.
The programme introduces plenty of variety. One week might be about building dens outdoors or creating blanket forts indoors, while another could focus on exploring nature, learning how to respond in an emergency or discovering the fun of puppetry and drama. Each activity is designed to be engaging, age-appropriate and rewarding.
Why Join Squirels?
By joining Squirrels, children begin developing important life skills early on. They grow in confidence, learn to express themselves, and start to understand the value of teamwork, empathy and community. Most importantly, they do all this while having fun and enjoying their very first steps in the Scouting adventure.
