24th World Jamboree 2019

The World Scout Jamboree is a gathering of tens of thousands of Scouts and Guides from almost every country in the world who, for ten days live together, experience each others cultures, take part in exciting activities and have an amazing adventure. It happens every four years.

The 24th World Scout Jamboree will be held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia from July 22 to August 2, 2019. The hosting duties will be split between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The theme is Unlock a New World.

We have been lucky enough to have four young people affiliated to the Group selected for the above event. The participants are:

Yasmin West – Quintain Explorer | Jack Harrison – Quintain Explorer | Will Booth – Young Leader at Scouts | Holly Burgess – Scout

As in previous years, the attendees will now participate in a number of training camps with other Districts and the 8 other District participants. Part of the Jamboree experience is Fund Raising for their place, with the support of the Group, Unit, District and friends and family, so do watch this space for details of future fund-raising events and ways in which you can help our three young people achieve their goal.
